1985 to 1991 - Days in Kerala...KV Days!!!

ज़िन्दगी के सफ़र में गुज़र जाते है जो मकाम वह फिर नहीं आते !!

We reached Palakkad in 1985..I was 7 years old..We were staying at a place called Kalepully with my Grand mother..That was the first transfer in my life and i was thinking that i dont have to go to school anymore as i am in Kerala now and my school was at Delhi..When my dad and mom took me to KV-Palakkad, i had no clue why he had taken me there...i was interviewed by the principal of the school, Mrs. Soudhamini..there were many students along with me..
I was so sad when dad told me that this will be my new school...I had no clue how i will study there..i was so weak in speaking malayalam by then and everyone around me were speaking in malayalam..
I joined in 2nd standard in Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Palakkad and the roller coaster period started in my life from then on...The days in KV Palakkad were the most UNFORGETTABLE experience in my life and I still cherish it....
I remember my first day in KV Palakkad..When i entered the class, all of them were giving me some wierd looks..I didnt know where to sit. I was offered a seat my Vijay..He said, its Anil's seat actually and he is not coming today so i can sit here but tomorrow i will have to sit somewhere else or he will get angry and he asked me to be careful about that guy as he is very strong and everyone in class are scared of him...
I told him that i am not scared of anyone as i am wearing a bangle in my hand which is a magic bangle and if anyone touch me he will get screwed!! and trust me..he believed it..That was my first गोली in life !! :-)

वोह भूली दास्तान लो फिर याद आ गयी, नज़र के सामने घटा सी छा गयी!!!

Hi guys!! am back after a short break..due to security issues my company has blocked internet access for all employees on laptop...so borrowed my wife's laptop to demonstrate my writing skills!! :-)

Days in KV started moving very fast and i started making lot of friends. We were staying at a place called Kallepully and I still remember my dad dropping me at School everyday and mom use to pick me up in the evening.

While I was in 2nd standard, I participated in my first dance contest and guess what, i was in a female getup...now thats nice part of my life...i was never part of the dance competition. I guess, one girl didnt come that day and they wanted someone to take part and i dont know why i said i will take part. I dont even know who did my makeup. I was wearing a skirt and an artificial long hair with jasmine on it!! :-) When my mom came in the evening to pick me up, our principal, Mrs Soudhamini mam took her to the staff room where we were all standing and showed me and asked her to recognise me and my mom said smiling, നല സുന്ദരി കുട്ടി!! and i jumped on her saying...mom..its me..Jayadevan!! That was the best part of that year..Fortunately we won the contest and I got my first certificate of my life!! 1st in Group dance!!

Life was pretty smooth in Palakkad. We were staying with my grandmother and i use to get pampered by her and my uncle. Meanwhile my dad got transffered to Lakshadweep and we moved to a place called Kallekulangara. Me and my mom were staying alone there. I made lot of friends there and while in 4th Standard, i met my best friend, Shyam R K. I dont remember how we became friends, but the bonding we both had was great. We were together always, everyday..from morning till evening..

1984 to 1996 Batch - KV No. 1 - Palakkad

I will write about me & Shyam separately because there are so many incidents which happened during that period when we were together..many of them were so interesting that, it requires a different mood to write about it.

1982 to 1985 - Delhi Days

I dont remember much about this period of my life. But yes, there are some faded memories about my days in Delhi. My dad was posted at New Delhi in the IB headquarters and he took me and my mother there in 1982. I was just 4 years old. We were staying at RK Puram, Sector 7 in a rented house. I still remember the children of Arora Uncle (Our landlord), Nithin & Deepak. Nithin was of my age and Deepak was the younger one....Nithin was the one who taught me Hindi and I still remember the first Hindi word i learned..Patha (Leaf)..I dont remember why this word came in our discussion..I still remember, i use to speak in malayalam to him and he in hindi..there were no translators between us..but we use to understand each other..mostly through hand language..:-)
I joined school in 1983 in Kerala School. Got very fade memories about the school but i still remember, it was a very small school. Heard that its a very big school in Delhi these days..I joined in UKG...completed 1st standard from there..
I still remember when i participated for the Annual Function in the Action Song event and how i forgot the lines but still managed it..that was my first exposure to stage..
In 1984 i had gone for the Republic Day parade with my Dad..and that was the best experience of my life..and the most tragic thing also happened in 1984..Indira Gandhi was assasinated..We were staying in a colony which was dominated by Sikhs..i still remember when i saw in the morning the two houses in front of us which were put on flames by the extermists..the entire shikh family were killed..the sikh uncle who were staying next to us were underground for so many days..i dont even remember when i saw them back in their house..They use to come to house to eat Idli and sambar..Sikh uncle use to drink 2-3 glasses of sambar and mom use to make faces at dad for calling him to home..
How can i forget my first girl friend..(not writing her name)...she was with me in school and our families were very close..and are still close..how much we cried when dad was transferred to Kerala in 1985..
Dad got transferred to Kerala in 1985...I still remember how much me and mom wanted to stay back in Delhi..We never wanted to come back to Kerala but Dad was so adamant to come back...
Wish we had stayed back in Delhi...!!!
